What are the Spirit Circle Women's Circles?
Spirit Circle Women's Circles take place to fill a need for positive connection within the community. Our women's sharing circles gather in small groups to maintain an atmosphere of intimate friendships and comfort when sharing.
Who may attend these women's circles?
Our gently guided Women's Circles are open to all women from young adults to elders in the spirit of soul-connection - please come share your journey of spirit with us.
What do we do in our Women's Circles?
I facilitate two types of women's circles:
- A gently facilitated drop-in women's circle where we allow the events of the circle to be guided by the energy of the participants. While the energy of the circles are different with each group of participants, we may or may not begin with a selected topic on which the circle is based. You will often find us sitting in a talking circle, meditating/guided visualization, drumming or singing. Sometimes we do more of one than the others, or do something completely different!
- A more structured women's circle over the course of several weeks or months where we participate in planned activities and events within specific themes. This type of circle allows us to move deeper into the theme, while forging more committed and stronger relationships between the participants.
Where are the Women's Circles held?
I have facilitated women's circles in several locations in North America, and would be pleased to talk with you about travelling to your city or town, should you feel the need for a Spirit Circle Women's Circle there.
Most of our women's circles are held in and around Errington, Qualicum, Parksville, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, and other locations on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. We've had women from Courtenay, Qualicum Beach, Parksville, Nanaimo, Duncan, Sooke, Victoria and other surrounding areas come to take part in our women's circles. Visitors to the area are welcome to join us any time as well.
In cooler weather we meet in halls, wellness centers, bookstores, gift shops, and other community buildings. In nicer weather we meet outdoors at the beach, in the woods, and other natural spaces, depending on the location.
What should you bring?
Please feel free to bring your drums, bring your voice, bring your candles, bring your hopes and dreams, bring whatever moves you - or just bring yourself. When we send out our email notices of upcoming women's circles, we'll advise you if there is anything else you need to bring.
How much does it cost?
We'll advise you of costs in our email reminders and on the calendar of upcoming circles.
If you're able to contribute the amount suggested it's always welcome. However, if you aren't able to contribute monetarily, please contact us - we don't want money to stop you from being able to benefit from our women's circles. Perhaps you could volunteer to help in some way, or contribute another way.
